Charlotte is the daughter of the celebrated portrait painter, Andrew Festing, who taught and encouraged her to draw and paint from a young age. Having studied Zoology at University and then worked for 8 years in the city, she has taken up painting again since the birth of her two children, Isabel and Adam (4 years and 2 years). Her inspiration is largely nostalgia-driven from a countryside childhood and as well, the traditional children’s stories such as Beatrix Potter, Wind in the Willows, Winnie the Pooh and Flower Fairies. Charlotte’s extraordinary eye for detail yet deeply sensitive appreciation for the animal world translates into a most bewitching and enchanting style.
